My Firefox Addons

I have made three extensions for firefox, as well as numerous user scripts for greasemonkey, and some translation tools for the firefox search bar. My firefox extensions are made available through the mozilla addon site, and the user scripts for greasemonkey, as well as my search tools can be downloaded directly from this page.
FullMap
Fullmap is an extension designed to improve the maping experience at Google Maps, by providing different viewing options. With the click of a user-defined access key, you can switch between the default view, and one in which headers and sidebars which reduce the size of the map are removed. The control buttons displayed on the map can also be hidden in this way. The switch between views can also be done using a toolbar button, which also has a drop-down menu to switch between map, satelite, and hybrid views, usefull when these buttons are hidden on the map. The extension is available in a number of localisations, thanks to the translators at babelzilla.org, which include use of the map site for your country. Even if a localisation is not available for your country, or if you prefer an alternate Google Maps site, this can be customized in the options pane for the extension.
FullCal
Fullcal is an extension much like Fullmap, but designed to work instead with the Google Calendar web app. Again, you can use a user-defined access key or toolbar button to switch between view modes, and the site on which it works is customisable via the options pane. In this case though, customising the site is used not for a different country version, but to allow the use of Fullcal on a Google Apps for Your Domain calendar. Fullcal is available in many languages, thanks to the translators at babelzilla.org.
MenuMod
Adds many options to modify the Firefox menus. Presently:
  • Display option to restart Firefox in File menu (for themes/extensions)
  • Hide option for IE help in help menu
  • Hide the Edit menu
  • Hide the History menu
  • Hide the Help menu
  • Place all menus inside another to save space
When Menu Mod is first installed, it does nothing. You need to go into the extensions options to enable those features that you would like.

Planned Features:
  • Right-clicking in the menu area gives the option to hide/show each menu in the context pop-up so that you don't need to open up the add-ons manager for this task
  • Option to rename the menus
  • Add a hot key to temporarily show all hidden menus so that you can hide those that you don't often use, but still have easy access to them
If you have any ideas for what other Menu related features you would like to see, please send me an email at extensions@[REMOVE ME]ugray.be. I would like to see this extension grow to include many more features as time passes, and I need to know what people would like to know what to add.
User Scripts
User Scripts are made to work with the Greasemonkey extension for firefox. You can get a good idea of what they are all about by taking a look at Dive Into Greasemonkey. These are some scripts that I have made for myself for xome of the sites that I visit regularily.
  • xkcd No Top Banner
Remove the top banner at xkcd.com to bring the comic up into better visibility.
  • Netvibes No Top
Again, removes the top banner, this time for Netvibes.
  • PMA Address Link
This is fairly limited in audience. It's for the PMA Management listing site, a rental management site in Ottawa, ON. If you're in the market, this is a decent site that I was using, and using wnough to warrant making this script, which turns the Address column of the search results into links to Google Maps (with the location marked).
  • UOttawa Address Link
Again for a fairly limited audience, this script is much the same as the above one, but for the University of Ottawa Off Campus Housing website. By the by, for any students looking for an apartment, this is definately the site that I would suggest. You're more likely to find something close to the university, and in the right price range - by its nature it caters to students. This is where I found the apartment that I live in.
  • Smallcal
This one is for getting rid of the header and sidebar on the Google Calendars site, much like my FullCal extension does, only in this case it is done automatically, every time you visit the site, provided you have a GET attribute of mymod set to true (e.g. http://www.google.com/calendar/render?pli=1&mymod=true) I find this useful for a netvibes module which embeds a page of your choice as a module. Since the calendar is using only a small portion of the screen, it helps to reduce cluter.
  • Zip Quick View
This, like the last, I find useful for a netvibes module which embeds a page of your choice as a module. This works with Zip.ca, a Canadian online movie rental service I use, to show what movies you currently have out, either in your possesion, or in the mail. The website you add to the module is http://www.zip.ca/myaccount/queue.aspx?myswitch=true
  • Weather Graph
This, like the last two, I find useful for a netvibes module which embeds a page of your choice as a module. This works with http://www.theweathernetwork.com which, unsurprisingly, is a weather site. The address you add to the module is http://www.theweathernetwork.com/index.php?product=hourlyfx&placecode=[insert code for your city here]&hourlytype=hourlygraph
